Family Dispute Resolution Mediation Services

Guiding Families Toward Calm, Clarity & Cooperation

At Keni Family Law & Mediation, we understand that family conflict can be deeply emotional, particularly during separation or major changes. Our goal is to help you move forward through respectful, structured, and solution-focused conversation.

We offer Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) mediation services accredited by the Australian Government Attorney-General’s Department, so you can trust that you’re receiving support from experienced professionals who meet the highest national standards.

What is Family Dispute Resolution?

Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is a confidential and structured mediation process that helps families resolve disputes around parenting, property, and financial matters—without going to court. Led by a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), the process empowers you to work through disagreements constructively, and to focus on practical solutions that support your children’s wellbeing and your family’s future.

In most parenting matters, participating in FDR is a legal requirement before applying to the Family Court.

What We Can Help With

Our FDR mediation services cover a wide range of family-related issues:

  • Parenting arrangements and shared custody

  • Co-parenting and communication planning

  • Division of property and financial settlements

  • Child support and post-separation logistics

  • Grandparent or extended family contact

  • Ongoing disputes between separated or divorced partners

⭐ We also offer Child-Inclusive Mediation, which involves hearing the child’s voice as part of the process. Fees for this service differ—see below.

FDR is suitable for many family situations, but not all.
